I’ve been away this past week and unplugged of gadgetry. My Hub and I are bicycling in Quebec on a self-supported tour and are enjoying the scenery. I plan to be back shortly after a few final days exploring Montreal. So I will talk to you soon. Meanwhile happy trails and reading. I’m interested to hear what books you are delving into this week and what you think of them?

I’m delving into “diverse” crime fiction which has taken me to Egypt and also Ghana within the last month. The first author is Parker Bilal; the second, Kwei Quartey. I’ve also been traveling to 1950s L.A. with Walter Mosley’s Easy Rawlins character. I still need to work on getting to South America. Maybe in the near future…hope you’re having a good vacation.
Sounds interesting Bryan. I’ll stop by your site soon to hear more about your diverse reading.
Good for you! I tried to unplug during our vacation, but I wasn’t altogether successful….I felt a strong pull to my cell phone.

Yeah the phone is a hard one, but we were out of range sometimes which forced us off. A good break!
I finally finished Sense and Sensibility this week.
Had book club last night to discuss The Storied Life of AJ Fikry. Which I LOVED!
Up next, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. If I had known that was coming next for book club I would have picked up a copy when I was in Monroeville. Dang!
Enjoy vacation!!
Thanks Darlene. Sounds like your reading is on a roll. Enjoy.
I would love to take a bike trip!! Do you plan on sharing a post/photos of your trip?
Vicki : bike trips are a blast. I’m sure you’d like one, a fun time with one’s spouse. This was our first trip where we carried our own luggage on the bike and stayed at B&Bs along the route. It worked well. Not sure if I’ll post more photos but maybe. Thanks for stopping by
Montreal is on my bucket list. I hope you are having a fantastic time exploring the area.
Thanks Molly. Yeah we’re liking Montreal. It’s a fun city with a lot to do and see. It reminds me of France in ways. I hope you get to visit here in the future!
Sounds like a lot of fun! Have a good trip! I haven’t been able to travel for a while now. Not enough time and money. These times come and go. 🙂
Right now I’m reading Clash of Kings, by George R R Martin and listening to The Blank Slate by Stephen Pinker. U’m also beta-reading a book for a aspiring novelist friend of mine.

Thanks Rachel. I will stop by your site when I get home. I havent heard of Stephen Pinker’s music so will check that out. My bro loves George RR Martin’s books but is waiting impatiently for the next one. Enjoy.
Sounds like fun – I hope you’re having a blast!
Thanks Kathy. Good times!
I hope you have an amazing time and that you’ll share a few pictures from your trip. I’ve only driven through Quebec (when I was very little) and would love to see the Provence once again as an adult. Enjoy!
Thanks Trish. It really is a neat area. I had never spent time in Quebec and found it a place I’d like to return to many times in the future. Though first I want to learn French!
Great photo–I like the bikes against the bridge with that gorgeous scene behind.
Sounds like a fun trip. I like the idea of a walking vacation, though I haven’t actually been on one yet.
Yeah it was neat bike trip; we’re glad we did it. I’ve never been on a walking vacation but those sound fun and scenic as well. The trip brochures are alluring!
What a wonderful thing to do. I admire the energy and organisation that goes into a holiday like this. I hope you have fun and I look forward to a holiday pic post when you get back 🙂
Thanks Brona, we are back now and had a wonderful trip. It did take quite a bit of organization on the front end but it went smoothly and was fun to try this self-supported biking out.
I love this photo. I hope your vacation was lovely.
Thanks Anne. Yes it was a great trip! We are got into carrying our own gear on the bike and stopping at B&Bs along the way. It was a lot of fun
